Interior Detailing Part 1

Was planning to give my car to the Sifu of Malaysian Car Detailing - KC to detail my interior. However, KC advised me to take up the challenge of doing it myself. He spent a good hour+ teaching me the fundamentals and the tools.

So I woke up this morning and started. With OPC (Optimum Power Clean) mixed with water at a ratio of 1:3 and a few brushes and old microfibers in the other, I went to work.

I found that working on the door cards, trims, dashboards and plastic pieces was much easier than doing the carpet and leather. So I went to work on them first.

Anyways... here are some pics from today.

Will probably work on the carpet next and once I am more "experienced", will work on the leather last - that would be the real reward if I pull this off! For now, I'm happy with the results so far... and KC was right, it's the best way to know more about your car. : )

HID'd

Changed my foggies from the normal standard amber bulb to 6000k (Pure White with a slight hit of blue) HID. The equivalent amber color for HIDs would be around 3000k-ish.

Taking photos of light using my iPhone2 is a real pain and the pictures are crap. But it will do for now lar....

E39s Around The World - Powered by Google

Was browsing for Miro 111 rims and came across this silver bullet.... This might end up being a self sustained injury aka. "sendiri cari pasal" if I'm not careful.  Ha ha....

40 days on ... my shorty...

How time flies... it's been 40 days since I've had her. To recap the things I've done:
  • Bought her
  • Pre-fit folding side mirror
  • Change M5 bodykit
  • Roll in the rear fender
  • Paint her red
  • Put on rims
  • Suspension
  • Rear lights
  • ... and all the small bits and bobs..
Today, it was time to slam it down even more...

It has also been 40 days since Robert Paul left us. You are and will be dearly missed!

E39s Around The World - Powered by Google

Over the last few months I've come across a lot of awesome E39s around the world while doing my "research" for my own car. I think they are awesome and sadly, some do not get the attention they deserve. On and off, I will pay homage to some of these fine beast!

Red Arrow's Chrome turns Black...

If you remember reading about Ms Red having her chrome window liner painted black (click here), today Red Arrow did a similar modification.

However, instead of getting it painted, the method of choice is to use sticker. This is more time consuming (if you DIY) or expensive (if you get someone else to do) but it is better way to do this than getting it sprayed as paint doesn't stick that well on chrome.

FUYOH !!

FULAMAK !!

Good stuff... now all it needs is 20s. : )
