Red Arrow's Chrome turns Black...

If you remember reading about Ms Red having her chrome window liner painted black (click here), today Red Arrow did a similar modification.

However, instead of getting it painted, the method of choice is to use sticker. This is more time consuming (if you DIY) or expensive (if you get someone else to do) but it is better way to do this than getting it sprayed as paint doesn't stick that well on chrome.

Adjustable are in....

After all the snide remarks on my bigfoot, monster truck (click here), I woke up first thing in the morning to update my original stock suspensions & absorbers to full adjustable. To the purist, NO, this are not Bilstein shock + Eibach spring. Not going to justify why here. Sat in those and then sat with the "others". Those who disagree with me are welcomed to sit in my car.  :D
"You take the blue pill – the story ends, you wake up in your bed
and believe whatever you want to believe". Dare take the red pill?

I decided to go for the GAB SS Series. It is fully adjustable with high-low and hard-soft. I went direct to RSOne in Kepong. Red Arrow manage to contact the manager there and I got a real sweet deal. Thanks, Bro!

Fresh out of the box

Work started at 10:30am as I had to wait for the car before me to be done. When it came to my turn, 3 persons worked on it. In 20 minutes+, the front was done.

The rear however took like 4 hours! They had to remove everything in the rear including the seat, speakers, rear headrest before they could install it.

Adjusting the 32 setting of hard-soft was easy on the front. Just lift the hood and twist the knob. However, to adjust the hard-soft for the rear will require taking everything out again!! So, I decided to fix Extension Kit. Now the knob can be turn using the Extension Kit which seats silently inside the speaker panel.

The car sit a bit higher than I love it to be. They told me that the height will reduce a bit more once the absorber settle down. Else, I'll take it back. Very happy with the level of professionalism and patience the 3 guys had to slowly figure and strip my rear. Definitely go direct to them if you are thinking of putting on any GAB shocks or absorbers.

Butt Ugly to Nice Ass

The original rear taillights that came with my car really looks Butt Ugly after it came out from the painter. There was no contrast and everything look blend with the yellow signal lights and the red of the body.

If you read my last post, (click here), I manage to negotiate an even trade for a pair of different light with my original rims with 2006 tyres! The taillights are actually also from the pre-facelift version but looks quite close to the facelift version. They are original Hella lamps and in very good condition!! I don't know exactly what version they are but apparently from what I read, those are the year 2000 and below M5 tail lamps.

The swap is pretty straight forward. It's just plug and play and no need for a conversion harness.

What ever they are, at least it doesn't look like this anymore.... Ha ha!

The Monster* is OUT!!

The rims were supposed to be ready by 2pm but when I called them during lunch time, I was told to come at 4pm. WHAT?! The extra 2 hours felt as long as the 2 weeks I've been waiting for!!!

Lucky I had made a concurrent appointment with another guy who wanted to trade my 16" rims for a pair of nicer looking tail lamps. After some fierce back and forth counter offers, we both agreed to a direct swap. Personally, I think it was a great deal as my current tyre were manufactured in... get this... 2006!! However, I hope I didn't get sucked into taking a lemon. We'll find out tomorrow!

So, the car went up the jack.
Up on the jack - notice the "subtle" difference in size.. haha
The gap of the wheel to the arch was in plain...fugly

I thought that once the car came down to earth, the gap wouldn't be that big. Boy, was I wrong!! *slap head*

* Well, you guessed it... the 2 clowns had a field day at my expense. Red Lorry lar... Monster Truck lar... Bigfoot lar *sigh*

Looks like I have yet another unexpected cost to deal with now.
The best side shot pic I have so far....
Which got me thinking, since I've already been walking down the road which most people wouldn't even think off, perhaps I should ignore going "slammed down" and perhaps embrace the "pimped up" look. What do you think?  :)
